Finger painting!!!

My little boy loves to paint.  And I have to confess that we don't paint as much as he would like.  I must confess too, it's just a chore to get the supplies out and then the clean up.  But there was actually one day, where it wasn't too hot and I thought I would "surprise" Jacob with finger paints.  At first, he wasn't too sure about putting his fingers in the paint.  (Isn't it funny that when you don't want them to put their fingers in paint they do and when you want them to they won't?  What's that about?)  Anyway, I had to show him that is was "fun" and what to do.  Then he put his whole hand in it and had a fun time.  He/We painted two pictures and that was enough for him.  I'm wishing for some more cool weather so we can finger paint again.  For him, of course.

Jacob's new "obsession".

Kung Fu Panda!!!!  Jacob "loves" the "panda" right now.  His Daddy took him to see the movie and when he got home from the movie he just kept talking about it.  Jacob had gotten some playdough from a friend and had his Daddy "make" pandas out of all four colors.  We also have to watch the preview (OnDemand) every night about 4-5 times.  Jacob's Daddy and Pepaw got Happy Meals for about week to get all of the characters from the movie.  We also have a story book and a sticker book of Kung Fu Panda.  This will be one movie we will have to purchase the day it's released on DVD.  And we will gladly watch it as many times as he wants.

Eating Cereal???

Okay.... so she is only 6 weeks old, but hunger was starting to take over and she was starting to want to eat every 2 - 2 1/2 hours.  After talking with my mom (who gave me cereal when I was two weeks old), and talking with Michael, we decided to give it a shot.  As you can see the little "piggy" really liked it.  I couldn't get it in her mouth fast enough.  She would cry (whimper) when the spoon was not in her mouth and when the spoon would hit her mouth, she gobbled it up.  We didn't give her too much to start with (not knowing how she would react to it).  Tonight we will try a little more.

Mickey Mouse Christmas in June

Jacob wanted to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (the Christmas episode) and nobody else really wanted to watch Santa in June.  Papa was nice and sweet enough to watch it with him on the computer.  As you can tell Jacob is relaxing with his feet propped up and resting on "his" Papa.  His Papa was enjoying it, too.  Not so much Mickey Mouse, but having "his" Jacob in his lap.

Anna Kate and her Aunt Brenda

My aunt and uncle are in for a visit from New Orleans.  This is the first time they have seen Anna Kate.  Aunt Brenda enjoyed seeing her and she even helped out with feeding her.  In this pic, Anna Kate is staring at a pic on the wall of her Mommy (Knowing full well she can't focus on it, I know she was staring it because it had a black background and white matting).

Playing in the water

On our little trip to Morristown this weekend, we purchased a sprinkler toy for Jacob to have at Nana's and Papa's to play with.  At first he wasn't too sure about it, but quickly became very interested in it and had so much playing in the water.  Papa got a watering can and filled it up and chased Jacob with it and he thought it was hilarious.  Jacob thought it was really funny when Papa came after Mommy.  Jacob also like his Daddy squirting him with the water hose.  We had a great time.  He wanted to do again when it was dark outside, and was sad that he couldn't.

Anna Kate's First day to Church

We finally made it to church.  I was missing going to church and I thought it was okay to take Anna Kate.  We only stayed for Sunday School and she went to our Sunday School class with us.  I was surprised that her little dress actually fit her.  She looked so pretty and was "well behaved".
